Not surprisingly, the frontal lobe is located at the front part of the brain.
It's the largest of the lobes and home to our cognitive thinking, which includes planning, problem solving and decision making. This lobe also determines and shapes our personalities, so you can thank your frontal lobe for helping to make you awesome.

The parietal lobe sits between the front and back lobes and stretches to both sides of the brain.
It’s associated with processing tactile sensory information, which includes sensations such as pain, pressure, temperature and touch. The right side helps interpret spatial information while the left side is involved in perceiving numbers, understanding objects, and writing.

The temporal lobe is located on the base of the brain, right behind the temples.
This lobe is home to the primary auditory cortex, which is known for interpreting sounds such as language. The hippocampus can be found here. Besides being a really fun word to say, the hippocampus is where memory is formed, organized and stored.

The occipital lobe is positioned at the back of the brain.
While it may be in the back of your brain, it is actually associated with your vision and interpreting visual stimuli and information, such as color. It is home to the primary visual cortex, which receives and interprets information from the retinas of the eyes, giving new meaning to the saying, "I have eyes in the back of my head."
